CELEBRITIES, they're a loyal bunch. A bit like family really, whatever strains or pains you're going through, the Cheryl Coles and Beyonces of this world are patiently waiting for you in every inch of every column of every media outlet providing you with unequivocal attention.
This week sees the launch of Madonna's W.E....It seems a slight coincidence that Madonna was, until recently, married to film director Guy Ritchie.
But what if your divorced Mother started dating a professional armageddonist (let's just say) who both, as a result, move Mexico to live in perfect harmony with the sub-cults true philosophy. You'd feel a bit let down right. In the last decade, celebrities involved in relationships with other celebrities have been observed crossing careers to their partners' occupation in dubious fashion.
This week sees the launch of Madonna's W.E., which she co-wrote and directed starring Abbie Cornish, Oscar Isaac, Richard Coyle, James D'Arcyand and Andrea Riseborough. Critics are split over the film with David Gritten of The Daily Mail calling it a 'bold and confident story' and Xan Brooks of The Guardian shrugging it off as a 'primped and simpering folly'.
This aside, it seems a slight coincidence that Madonna was, until recently, married to film director Guy Ritchie. She's not the only one, the list goes on. Gwyneth Paltrow, the wife of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has began to show signs of taking up a musical career – rumours of recording a country album performing with Cee-Lo Green at the 2011 Grammy Awards as well as her all-singing, all-dancing appearane on Glee.
You can just see it can't you – Gwyneth and Chris tucked up in bed with the kids long asleep as she remarks to her husband, 'I really like singing Chris, I really really do,' whilst Chris hal- heartedly listens promising to make the phone call if she would just 'shut the f**k up'.
Zoe Deschanel, film actress and star of the new TV show New Girl, married Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard in 2009 (she has just filed for divorce). And guess what, she too has released two albums. What are we supposed to think? That this has just happened because the aforementioned happen to have a natural talent for their new occupation as well as their current one? Something smells fishy.
P.S. Let me know what you thought of the film (aside from the girl being hawtttt)Read more
