EXCLUSIVE… We reveal for the first time our great culinary recipe scoop: The Ikea Sandwich. The handy Scandis at IKEA announce they are going to do a Tesco and boot out all their food brands and go own-label with 150 new lines. They have always had a surprisingly interesting food selection to encourage you to put something on your plates (as opposed to their canteens which seem pretty grim).
Beyond the meatballs and the self-congratulatory hot dogs on the other side of the checkout, the fridges have great value herrings in marinades, frozen prawns and crisp breads. Cheap too.
For all the gourmands among you here is Confidential’s exclusive recipe recommendation, as cooked up in our offices – and a lot easier to put together than some of the other bits and pieces in the furniture department. You will never be stuck for a canapé again.
THE IKEA SANDWICH
One slice of black or rye bread
Tube of salmon pate
Jar of lumpfish
Spread one side of dark bread thickly with the salmon pate. Be generous.
Spoon on top red or black lumpfish – or a mix. Be generous.
Enjoy.
