Facebook's Anti-Business Card

Your face on a social calling card

Facebook's Anti-Business Card

IN what could spell the end of traditional business cards, Shoreditch online printing firm moo.com has unveiled its latest development, the 'Facebook card'.

The cards, designed in collaboration with Facebook, resemble the social media giant's new timeline feature, which prioritises the pictures and information that are most important to its user. They are based on your Facebook profile, including your name, company or college, where you live, your Facebook url, phone number and email address and on the back on the card, there is space for a good one-liner that sums you up.

“Working closely with the Facebook Timeline team, we translated their Cover Photo concept to our Business Card format by mirroring the fonts, layout and iconography of the Timeline," said Richard Moross, founder of moo.com.

Moo is part of the Old Street silicon roundabout set. They create business cards, postcards and minicards, but have recently begun to notice a trend in alternative business cards such as these. Moross mentions that many clients have placed orders for cards featuring unusual job titles such as "Plumber Hero" and "Personal Shopping Trailblazer".

"Facebook is anti business card really, this is more of a social card," says Moross, "We can show off their photography, but also give their contact details."
