Is Life A Drag?

Tonight at Floridita will be anyway...

Is Life A Drag?

IN a bizarre beginning to the year, cross-dressers seem to be popping up all over the city. And what's odder still, is that they seem to be delivered hand-in-hand with food.

The class begins with an exercise in the art of make-up application – more is definitely more – and all pupils are expected to adhere to the strict dress-code of sequins, lame, spandex and glitter.

First The Pale Blue Door supperclub and its outrageous host, A Man to Pet, and now Floridita's latest venture: the Queen Dance-Class and Dinner package.

Billed as the latest exercise craze (pole dancing is so last year) the class, hosted by The Globe Girls, will teach women how to ooze Moulin Rouge, whilst toning up in an energetic and modern routine.

If the thought of your post-Christmas body bursting out of a spandex onesie isn't frightening enough, hair must be so huge and back-combed that the view from the top of it even rivals that of the Shard.

After the class, pupils are rewarded with a three course cosmopolitan Latin American and Cuban menu created by Floridita’s executive chef, Richard Sawyer.

You can then sit back and watch The Girls do all the work as they headline Cabaret Floridita. The Globe Girls have danced for numerous A-List celebrities, including Elton John, Beyonce and even HRH Prince Edward – so you're in for a show.

The first class of 2012 starts tonight at 6pm.

Tickets are £25 for a one and a half hour class plus a cocktail, or £55 for the class plus a three-course meal and The Globe Girls' cabaret show.
