Around for just a short while is the iconic Aquascutum’s new pop-up shop. The British brand, known for its heritage checks and sharp tailoring will be located in the heart of Knightsbridge on Sloane Street this weekend, featuring pieces from past and current collections, perfect for those of you stuck for Christmas gift ideas. Winter Wunderland at The Scala
This year’s holidays are becoming harder and harder not to write about without wincing. Almost too filthy is the Winter Wunderland brought to you by Bizarre at Scala, Kings Cross. With the promise that Santa will empty his sack all over you, this event is not for everyone, however it promises to be a night full of fun and partying. The X-rated Christmas event will be brimming with DJs and alternative entertainment, including Circus of Horrors, Skeletones and Lady Starlight as well as Funeral for a Friend’s Ryan, who is now a DJ. The biggest alternative Christmas party this year will not disappoint but may easily leave you feeling slightly embarrassed.

Santacon 2011
The hilarious event Santacon, likes to remind us that it is a ‘non-profit, non-political, non-religious and non-sensical celebration of Christmas cheer, goodwill, and fun’. The event is free for everyone and anyone can join as long as you don’t misbehave –  in their own words “Don’ f*ck it up for the rest of us”.  The event has no real cause apart from a great chance to act silly, get Christmassy and let go this time of year. If we are to judge by previous years, there are hundreds expected – and if you decide to dress up and run around the city, you will be expected to give gifts, sing songs and resolve who is naughty and nice. Chanting will be encouraged, check the website for starting points, which will be added soon.

Columbia Road Christmas Shopping Evening
Go visit the cobbled streets and unique independent shops as we edge nearer and nearer to Christmas. The lovely little neighbourhood in the East End will be offering holiday delights as well as opening late on Wednesday evenings until Christmas. However, if you can’t make it on the Wednesday, they open every Sunday alongside the flower market. The old Victorian shopping area offers vintage fashions, original artwork and has a great option of delicatessens. The late night shopping events on Columbia Road are a great way to find little trinkets for gifts, with more than 50 shops, cafés and small galleries, including Vintage Heaven, Bob & Blossom, Supernice and Jones Dairy.

Spitalfields City Farm Carol Concert
To be honest this isn’t the strangest event this week but one of the perhaps more surreal to grace the public this weekend. Yes that’s right, a carol concert with farm animals. On Friday, Spitalfields City Farm will be gathering its best singers and hosting a concert for everyone to accompany the animals. A great event to take the family too or perhaps if you just want a laugh and don’t forget to wrap up warm as its going to be cold outside as you are to follow the lights on the grass road with the other carollers. The night will come to a close with mulled apple juice, hot chocolate and mince pies by the fire, a cute and festive evening.

New Concept Store ONEDAYSHOP is Popping Up
The exciting new pop store ONEDAYSHOP, is the new concept popping up for the first time this Saturday in the east of London. For one day only, the pop up shop will showcase some of the latest designers who are currently emerging onto the fashion scene and some other fantastic designs from some of the London Fashion Week favourites. The public will have the first chance to grab a one-off piece from exclusive collections or last-chance collection must haves. Designers who will be gracing Dalston are Atalanta Weller, Charlie May, Olanic and many more. A great opportunity to meet like-minded people and get yourself a designer bargain and a free cheeky Bloody Mary will be on offer too, to cure any hangover from the night before, so no excuse to miss this fab event.
