Manchester Orchestra Tour Dates Announced

Atlanta-based indie rockers Manchester Orchestra are coming to the UK this fall for a mini tour, following the success of their acclaimed album Simple Math. The album, which was released earlier this year, proved a commercial and critical success, and the band with the highly confusing name have decided to give us Brits a taste.

The band (which actually has nothing to do with a traditional instrumental ensemble that the name implies, nor are they from Manchester) filled their last album Simple Math with ‘monster riffs, vigorous string arrangements, deep hooks and lots of personal experience’, the wet dream of any true indie fan.

The mini tour will kick off in Bristol on the second of October and pays a visit to Scotland before coming down to Birmingham and Manchester, to end with a triumphant appearance at Camden’s KoKo on the 7th. It’s the band’s first ever headline tour in the UK, although they’ve acted as opening act for the likes of Kings of Leon and Biffy Clyro, as well as performing twice at the Reading and Leeds Festival.

Tour dates

Bristol:          Sunday 2 October       Thekla

Glasgow:       Monday 3 October       Oran Mor

Birmingham: Tuesday 4 October      HMV Institute Library

Manchester:  Wednesday 5 October Academy 2

London:         Friday 7 October          KoKo
